In response to the UMBC Covid-19 campus protocol:

As of Thursday, March 19, Counseling Center staff will no longer be providing in-person services and will be providing services remotely until further notice. If you would like to speak with a Counseling Center clinician, you may call 410-455-2472 and leave a message including your name, email address, phone number, and UMBC ID#. Please speak clearly and slowly so that we have the information we need to be able to reach you

Voicemail are checked regularly between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. A representative will respond to your call as quickly as possible during business hours. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency and cannot wait for our return call, please call UMBC Police at 410-455-5555 or 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.

Welcome to the Counseling Center website. We’re glad you found us!

Over the course of your college years, you will encounter many challenges and opportunities, both academically and personally. At the Counseling Center, we are here to help you successfully navigate those challenges and take advantage of opportunities to make the most of your experience.

Here you will find information about our in-office services, including individual and group counseling, as well as our outreach services – we can bring our training workshops and presentations to your group or office. Also, we offer a variety of resources, including online screenings and programs, self-help materials, and information for off-campus community referrals. Lastly, if you are a psychology doctoral or clinical social work student interested in working with us, take a look at the page dedicated to our training programs.

Our services are confidential and free for registered UMBC students. Need more information? Want to make an appointment? Give us a call or stop by.
