Welcome! The UMBC Counseling Center is open and providing fully remote services due to safety considerations for the campus community during the Covid-19 pandemic. Clinicians will meet virtually with students through a secure video conference platform (WebEx).

Due to applicable mental health licensure laws, please be advised that the UMBC Counseling Center can only provide ongoing counseling services to students who are physically located in the State of Maryland at the time of serviceIf you are located outside of Maryland, we can provide short-term crisis support and or referral assistance to a provider located within your state.

Counseling Center After-Hours Support

If you have mental health concerns outside of regular business hours and wish to speak with someone from our After-Hours Support Line, please call 410-455-3230. It is available to support students experiencing a mental health crisis, health issues, sexual assault or relationship violence.
